Five-year agreement expands long-standing customer relationship

Ceragon Networks (NASDAQ:CRNT) shares surged 14% on Tuesday after the wireless transport specialist announced a five-year contract worth approximately $70 million with a Tier-1 mobile operator in the Asia-Pacific region.

The agreement strengthens an existing relationship between the two companies and supports the continued expansion and modernisation of the operator’s nationwide telecommunications infrastructure.

Contract supports nationwide 4G and 5G deployment

As part of the deal, Ceragon will provide wireless transport equipment and related services to help enhance the operator’s 4G and 5G transport network.

The deployment will include several of the company’s networking platforms, including the IP-50CX, IP-50GP and E-band product family comprising the IP-50E, IP-50EX and IP-50EXP.

The technologies are intended to increase transport capacity, improve last-mile connectivity and support the ongoing rollout of next-generation mobile services.

Services offering broadens beyond hardware

In addition to supplying network equipment, Ceragon will provide dedicated technical support personnel who will work alongside the operator’s internal teams throughout the project.

The agreement also creates an opportunity to expand managed services in the future through the deployment of Ceragon Insight, the company’s network monitoring software, giving the customer greater operational visibility across its evolving infrastructure.

CEO highlights long-term partnership

The latest contract builds on years of collaboration between Ceragon and the unnamed Asia-Pacific telecommunications provider.

“This agreement reflects the operational trust built through years of execution with one of APAC’s leading mobile operators,” said Doron Arazi, CEO of Ceragon. “Evolving nationwide mobile networks require evolving radio performance and capabilities, as well as disciplined rollout planning and dependable services that can scale as 4G and 5G demand grows.”

Headquartered in Rosh Ha’ain, Israel, Ceragon develops wireless connectivity solutions for mobile network operators and telecommunications service providers worldwide.
