CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV) has entered into a multi-year agreement with quantitative trading firm Hudson River Trading (HRT) to supply cloud computing infrastructure for its artificial intelligence research and model development activities.
The partnership will give HRT access to CoreWeave’s specialised AI cloud platform as the trading firm expands its use of machine learning and large-scale neural networks across quantitative research.
HRT to deploy Nvidia-powered CoreWeave infrastructure
Under the agreement, HRT will use computing clusters incorporating Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 and Nvidia HGX B200 GPU systems, supported by Spectrum-X Ethernet networking.
The infrastructure is intended to handle computationally intensive workloads including AI model training, large-scale neural network development and quantitative research.
“As we scale our AI and machine learning research, the AI platform we build on matters as much as the models we build,” said Kevin Lee, head of Research & Development at HRT. “We chose CoreWeave because they understand what it takes to run AI in demanding production environments, and because we’re confident they’ll scale alongside us as our ambitions do.”
CoreWeave will also provide dedicated high-bandwidth direct-connect networking between HRT’s existing on-premises systems and the cloud provider’s infrastructure.
Research teams will additionally have access to technical support tools designed to help manage and optimise demanding AI workloads.
Financial services provides demanding test for AI infrastructure
The deal expands CoreWeave’s exposure to the financial services industry, where quantitative trading firms require significant computing performance, low-latency connectivity and reliable infrastructure to support increasingly sophisticated models.
“Financial services is one of the most demanding proving grounds for AI,” said Jon Jones, chief revenue officer at CoreWeave. “HRT is one of the companies setting the standard for what it means to bring AI into production in a performance-critical environment.”
For CoreWeave, the agreement demonstrates another potential application for its GPU-focused cloud platform beyond dedicated AI laboratories, as enterprises and financial institutions increase their investment in artificial intelligence.
CoreWeave expands AI cloud customer base
CoreWeave completed its Nasdaq listing in March 2025 and provides specialised cloud infrastructure to AI laboratories, large enterprises and financial services companies.
The Hudson River Trading agreement adds a prominent quantitative trading customer to that portfolio and illustrates growing demand for specialised computing capacity capable of supporting large AI and machine-learning workloads.
Neither CoreWeave nor HRT disclosed the financial value of the multi-year contract.
