Quantum Computing Inc. Signs Three-Year Agreement With Hamad Bin Khalifa University

By Fiona Craig | September 14, 2026, 10:07 AM

Quantum Computing Inc. (NASDAQ:QUBT) has entered into a three-year framework agreement with Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar covering collaboration in quantum computing, quantum sensing and quantum communications.

The agreement includes joint academic research, executive education programmes, industry-focused projects, application development and co-marketing activities. Financial terms were not disclosed.

QCi to Provide Access to Dirac-3 System

Under the agreement, Quantum Computing Inc., or QCi, will provide HBKU with cloud-based access to its Dirac-3 system as well as a physical installation of the platform in Qatar.

Dirac-3 is designed to address optimisation problems using entropy quantum computing techniques. According to QCi, the system can be operated without specialised quantum computing expertise.

HBKU is home to the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing, or QC2, which previously established what the university describes as Qatar’s first quantum-safe communications link in collaboration with national partners.

“Quantum technologies will have their greatest impact when they move beyond the laboratory and into practical applications that create measurable value for industry and society,” said Yong Meng Sua, CTO of QCi.

Agreement Covers Research and Education

During the three-year term, QCi and HBKU plan to conduct joint research, technical workshops, executive education programmes and quantum-focused events.

Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Director of the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing at HBKU, said the agreement aims to “further advance quantum research while building the knowledge and skills necessary to support the adoption of quantum technologies across Qatar’s innovation ecosystem.”

The organisations said they are already collaborating on educational initiatives aimed at business and government leaders.

QCi is headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey, and operates across several US states.
