Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) will operate public Megacharger facilities for heavy-duty electric trucks at three California depots being developed by Forum Mobility, as part of a 30-megawatt charging infrastructure expansion.
Forum Mobility announced on Thursday that it is developing four electric truck charging depots across Northern and Southern California. The facilities will include pull-through charging lanes equipped with Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology and conventional Combined Charging System (CCS) chargers.
The expansion also includes contracted fleet capacity for more than 330 Tesla Semi trucks.
Tesla to Operate Three Public Megacharging Locations
Under the arrangement, Tesla will operate public Megacharging facilities at three Forum Mobility locations: FM Francis in Ontario, and FM Adeline and FM Coliseum in Oakland.
At the fourth depot, FM Santa Fe in Rancho Dominguez, Forum Mobility has secured contracted fleet capacity for more than 330 Tesla Semis. The site will also remain accessible to other commercial carriers.
The arrangement combines public charging infrastructure with capacity reserved for fleet operators, supporting the deployment of electric heavy-duty trucks in California.
Long Beach Depot Receives Additional Megachargers
Forum Mobility has also installed two Tesla MCS Megachargers at its existing FM Harbor depot at the Port of Long Beach.
The facility has been operational since December 2024 and includes 44 CCS charging ports with a total capacity of 9 megawatts.
The additional Megachargers expand the depot’s charging options for heavy-duty electric vehicles.
Forum Mobility said it currently has 25 carrier customers with contracted capacity, reservations for more than 330 Tesla Semis and more than 40 megawatts of CCS and MCS charging capacity either operational or under construction.
Further Expansion Planned Across the United States
Beyond its current California projects, Forum Mobility is developing additional charging depots in the Inland Empire and Central Valley.
The company is also planning facilities in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Seattle/Tacoma and Chicago.
Forum Mobility said the new California depots have received partial funding through grants and incentives provided by state and local agencies.
The expansion is intended to increase access to charging infrastructure for commercial electric truck fleets, although the company did not disclose a completion timetable for all planned locations or the financial terms of its arrangement with Tesla.
