Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) shares reduced their premarket losses on Monday after the company confirmed the hiring of MongoDB’s chief executive, Chirantan “CJ” Desai.
Meta shares had fallen more than 3% earlier in the session before recovering to trade 0.7% lower.
Desai stepped down as MongoDB’s chief executive with immediate effect to take a senior position at Meta Platforms.
MongoDB Appoints Interim CEO
Following Desai’s departure, MongoDB appointed Dev Ittycheria as interim president and chief executive, effective immediately.
Ittycheria previously served as MongoDB’s chief executive from 2014 until 2025.
MongoDB said it remains confident in its business outlook and reaffirmed its existing guidance.
