Energy Fuels Inc (NYSE:UUUU) stock is 1% higher to trade at $11.10 this afternoon, though it remains within a chip-shot of its July annual low at $10.70. Overhead trendlines, including the 80-day moving average, have added pressure in recent months, with the shares now off 23% for both 2026 and the quarter. More losses could be on the way, too, per a historically bearish signal now flashing on the charts.
UUUU sports a 10-day call/put volume ratio of 9.74 at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Cboe Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), which stands higher than 90% of readings from the past year. There have been six instances in the last three years that the equity's 10-day buy-to-open call/put ratio crossed over 1.0 and moved into the 90th percentile.
Per Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative Analyst Rocky White, the uranium name was lower one month later 83% of the time after these signals, averaging a 13.5% loss. A move of similar magnitude would place the stock below $10 and at a fresh annual low.
Shorts are firmly in control. Over the past two reporting periods, short interest rose 5%, accounting for 21.3% of the stock's available float. At UUUU's average pace of trading, it would take nearly eight days to buy back these bearish bets.
These options are affordably priced as well. Specifically, Energy Fuels stock's Schaeffer’s Volatility Index (SVI) of 64% stands in the 15th percentile of its annual range.
