Amneal Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:AMRX) reported third-quarter earnings and revenue above Wall Street expectations, supported by strong growth across its biosimilar, specialty pharmaceutical and affordable medicines businesses. The company also raised its full-year 2026 financial guidance following the better-than-expected performance.
Adjusted earnings per share reached $0.26, exceeding the analyst consensus estimate of $0.23 by $0.03. Quarterly revenue increased 10% to $862.7 million from $785.0 million in the corresponding period of 2025, surpassing market expectations of $812.1 million.
The results reflected growth across several product categories, including biosimilars, women’s health treatments and branded specialty medicines.
Amneal’s third-quarter revenue exceeded analyst expectations by $50.6 million, supported by continued expansion across its pharmaceutical portfolio.
The 10% year-over-year increase reflected contributions from existing products and newer treatments, particularly within the company’s Affordable Medicines and Specialty segments.
Adjusted earnings per share of $0.26 also came in ahead of consensus estimates, demonstrating stronger profitability on an adjusted basis.
However, the company’s reported earnings under generally accepted accounting principles presented a different picture.
Amneal recorded a GAAP net loss of $22.0 million, equivalent to a loss of $0.06 per diluted share.
That compared with net income of $2.0 million in the third quarter of 2025.
The difference between GAAP and adjusted earnings highlights the importance of distinguishing the company’s reported bottom-line performance from its adjusted profitability measures.
Amneal reported adjusted EBITDA of $207.0 million for the third quarter, representing a 30% increase from $159.6 million in the same period last year.
The improvement substantially exceeded the company’s 10% revenue growth rate, indicating stronger adjusted operating profitability.
The increase reflected the contribution of higher sales across Amneal’s pharmaceutical businesses, including its growing biosimilar and specialty product portfolios.
The stronger adjusted EBITDA performance also supported management’s decision to raise its annual financial expectations.
Co-Chief Executive Officers Chirag and Chintu Patel highlighted the company’s continued progress.
“Amneal delivered another quarter of strong, broad-based performance, enabling us to increase our 2026 guidance once more,” they said.
Amneal’s Affordable Medicines segment delivered a 19% increase in net revenue during the third quarter.
Growth was supported by demand for biosimilars, women’s health patches and recently launched products.
Biosimilars were an important contributor, reflecting the company’s efforts to expand its presence in treatments designed to provide alternatives to existing biologic medicines.
Women’s health products also supported the segment’s performance, alongside revenue from new launches.
The combination of established products and portfolio expansion helped the business achieve growth well above the company’s overall revenue increase.
The segment’s performance reinforced the importance of affordable treatment options within Amneal’s broader commercial strategy.
Amneal’s Specialty segment reported revenue growth of 20% compared with the third quarter of 2025.
The increase was driven by key branded products, including CREXONT and the BREKIYA autoinjector.
The strong performance of these treatments contributed to the company’s overall revenue growth and improved adjusted profitability.
Specialty medicines represent an important part of Amneal’s product portfolio, complementing its affordable medicines and biosimilar businesses.
The segment’s double-digit growth also demonstrated the contribution of branded products to the company’s quarterly results.
Together, the Affordable Medicines and Specialty businesses provided significant support for Amneal’s stronger-than-expected financial performance.
Following its third-quarter results, Amneal increased its revenue guidance for fiscal 2026.
The company now expects annual revenue of between $3.15 billion and $3.25 billion, compared with its previous forecast of $3.10 billion to $3.20 billion.
The midpoint of the updated range is $3.20 billion, representing a $50 million increase from the previous midpoint of $3.15 billion.
The revised outlook is also above the analyst consensus estimate of $3.16 billion.
The higher forecast reflects management’s expectations for continued contributions from the company’s pharmaceutical portfolio during the remainder of the year.
The guidance increase follows strong quarterly growth in both the Affordable Medicines and Specialty segments.
Amneal also raised its full-year adjusted earnings forecast.
The company now expects adjusted earnings per share of between $1.04 and $1.08, compared with its previous guidance of $0.96 to $1.06.
The midpoint of the revised range is $1.06, exceeding the analyst consensus estimate of $1.03.
The increase reflects the company’s stronger adjusted profitability and management’s expectations for the final quarter of 2026.
The revised guidance follows a period in which adjusted EBITDA increased 30%, supported by revenue growth across multiple product categories.
However, investors will continue to distinguish the company’s adjusted earnings performance from its GAAP results, which included a net loss during the third quarter.
Amneal’s third-quarter results demonstrated continued revenue growth and stronger adjusted profitability, with both earnings and sales exceeding analyst forecasts.
The Affordable Medicines and Specialty segments delivered revenue increases of 19% and 20%, respectively, while adjusted EBITDA rose 30% to $207.0 million.
The company responded by raising its full-year revenue outlook to $3.15 billion–$3.25 billion and adjusted EPS guidance to $1.04–$1.08.
Despite the positive adjusted results, the reported GAAP net loss of $22.0 million remains an important consideration when assessing overall financial performance.
Investors will be monitoring whether Amneal can sustain growth across its biosimilar and specialty portfolios, deliver on its increased guidance and translate stronger adjusted profitability into improved reported earnings.
