Kroger Co (KR) Affirms Commitment to Shareholder Value with Dividend Hike

The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is one of the 10 best organic food and farming stocks to buy now. On June 26, the company reiterated its commitment to shareholders’ value by announcing a 9% increase in its annual dividend.

The retail giant has increased its annual dividend to $1.40 per share from $1.20, resulting in a yield of approximately 1.77%. It marks the 19th consecutive year of dividend increase for the grocery retailer. The company’s quarterly dividend has increased at a compound annual growth rate of 13% since 2006.

Additionally, Kroger is scheduled to pay a 35-cent-per-share dividend on September 1, 2025, to shareholders of record as of August 15, 2025.  Its capital allocation strategy affirms the use of free cash flow to invest in business growth while returning value to shareholders.

“This dividend increase reflects the Board of Directors’ confidence in the consistency of our operating performance, strength of our free cash flow generation, and our commitment to deliver long-term shareholder value,” said Ron Sargent, Kroger’s Chairman and CEO.

The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is a large grocery retailer that also operates pharmacies, fuel centers, and manufacturing facilities. It is known for its diverse range of products, including fresh foods, organic options, and prepared meals.
