Tesla Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk has shared an update regarding the upcoming Cybercab, as well as the Optimus Humanoid Robot's production timelines.
Elon Musk Says Tesla Has Revamped Cybercab Production
In a response to influencer Sawyer Merritt's post on the social media platform X, Musk, on Tuesday, shared that the initial production for any product "is always very slow and follows an S-curve."
Merritt's post shared a video that showcased the Tesla Cybercab being produced with the "unboxed manufacturing process," promising Cybercabs would roll off the production line in under 10 seconds.
Tesla Cybercab production starts in less than 100 days from today, which will use Tesla's revolutionary unboxed manufacturing process for the first time.

Musk then shared that production speeds were "inversely proportionate" to the number of new parts and steps. "For Cybercab and Optimus, almost everything is new," the billionaire said.
He then added that because of this, initial production would be "agonizingly slow." However, once things are set into place, the production would "end up being insanely fast."

With the Cybercab nearing production, Musk shared that Tesla vehicles fitted with the AI4 (HW4) chip would be able to run Unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) without needing any additional upgrades.
Musk also touted the company bringing back its Dojo program, which was Tesla's in-house chip-building effort, and shared that the Dojo3/AI7 chips would help in Space-based AI compute.
On the Optimus front, investor Jason Calacanisexpressed bullish sentiments about the Robot, sharing that the Robot could potentially overshadow the company’s automotive business. The comments came after Calacanis claimed to have visited Tesla’s Optimus facility and seen the Optimus 3 robot.
Tesla More Capital Efficient Than Waymo, Analyst Says
Meanwhile, NewStreet Research analyst Pierre Ferragu shared that Tesla was seven-times more capital efficient than its Robotaxi rival Alphabet Inc.-backed (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) Waymo, and also held an advantage in its fleet as Tesla owners could rent their personal cars to the fleet in the future.
With the Cybercab on the horizon, Tesla could look towards bolstering its Robotaxi efforts, which have so far failed to live up to Musk's ambitions for the service.
According to Benzinga Edge Rankings, Tesla scores well on the Quality and offers a favorable price trend in the Medium and Long term.
