EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ:EVGO) and Regency Centers Corporation (NASDAQ:REG) announced an expansion of their existing partnership that will add more than 400 fast-charging stalls at Regency shopping centres across the United States.
According to the companies, the planned installations are expected to increase Regency’s EV charging footprint by more than 20%.
EVgo currently operates more than 150 charging stalls at Regency properties, having installed its first charger at a Regency location in 2020.
New charging sites planned across multiple states
The additional charging sites are planned for retail centres in metropolitan areas across Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and other states.
Each location is expected to include as many as 24 high-power chargers.
Scott Levitan, Executive Vice President of Growth at EVgo, said: “Expanding our partnership with Regency will help us meet growing customer demand while making public fast charging more accessible in the places people shop, dine and connect with their communities.”
Mark Peternell, VP of Sustainability at Regency Centers, said: “Increasing access to fast charging like this supports the widespread adoption of EVs and advances our broader sustainability goals.”
Regency Centers is a real estate investment trust and member of the S&P 500 that owns and operates grocery-anchored shopping centres across suburban U.S. markets.
