DuPont Raises 2026 Earnings Outlook After Strong Third-Quarter Results

By Fiona Craig | November 03, 2026, 8:31 AM

DuPont (NYSE:DD) reported third-quarter earnings and revenue above market expectations on Tuesday, supported by organic sales growth, improved operating margins and disciplined capital management. The specialty materials company also raised its full-year 2026 financial guidance, sending its shares 2.4% higher following the announcement.

Adjusted earnings per share reached $2.09, exceeding analysts’ consensus forecast, while quarterly revenue increased 4% to $1.9 billion from $1.8 billion a year earlier.

The revenue improvement reflected 5% organic sales growth, partially offset by a 1% negative impact from currency movements.

Organic Growth Supports Quarterly Performance

DuPont’s third-quarter results demonstrated continued growth in its underlying operations, with organic sales increasing 5% compared with the same period last year.

The improvement helped lift reported revenue to $1.9 billion despite unfavorable foreign exchange movements.

The company also benefited from operating efficiencies, contributing to stronger profitability and earnings growth.

Chief Executive Officer Lori Koch highlighted the consistency of the company’s performance.

“We delivered another quarter of consistent, high-quality performance, once again exceeding our financial guidance,” Koch said.

“Mid-single-digit organic growth, strong operating leverage and disciplined capital allocation drove significant adjusted EPS growth.”

The results provided the basis for DuPont’s decision to increase its financial expectations for the remainder of 2026.

Operating EBITDA Rises 8% as Margins Expand

DuPont reported operating EBITDA of $469 million for the third quarter, representing an 8% increase from $436 million in the corresponding period of 2025.

The company’s operating EBITDA margin improved by 80 basis points to 25.1%, reflecting stronger profitability alongside revenue growth.

The margin expansion indicates that DuPont was able to convert a greater proportion of sales into operating earnings.

The improvement also contributed to adjusted earnings per share of $2.09, reinforcing the company’s focus on operational efficiency and cost management.

DuPont’s performance reflected the combined effects of organic revenue growth and operating leverage, which supported earnings despite the negative currency impact.

Strong Cash Generation Supports Capital Allocation

Cash generation remained an important component of DuPont’s third-quarter performance.

The company reported $410 million in cash provided by operating activities from continuing operations.

Transaction-adjusted free cash flow reached $341 million, representing a conversion rate of 121%.

The results demonstrated DuPont’s ability to generate cash alongside its earnings growth, providing additional flexibility for shareholder distributions and other capital allocation priorities.

The company continued returning capital to shareholders during the quarter through share repurchase programmes.

DuPont completed a $250 million accelerated share purchase and substantially completed an additional $100 million in open-market share repurchases.

Management also announced plans to repurchase another $250 million of shares during the fourth quarter.

The planned purchases would extend the company’s shareholder return activities through the end of the financial year.

Fourth-Quarter Earnings Forecast Exceeds Consensus

DuPont expects adjusted earnings per share of between $1.90 and $1.95 for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The midpoint of the forecast, approximately $1.93, is above the analyst consensus estimate of $1.88.

The company also anticipates fourth-quarter revenue of approximately $1.82 billion, broadly in line with market expectations.

The guidance indicates that DuPont expects to maintain its operating performance during the final three months of the year.

While the revenue forecast is consistent with analyst projections, the stronger earnings outlook suggests management anticipates continued support from operating efficiency and profitability improvements.

DuPont Raises Full-Year 2026 Guidance

Following its third-quarter performance, DuPont increased its full-year adjusted earnings forecast.

The company now expects adjusted earnings per share of between $7.47 and $7.52, compared with the analyst consensus estimate of $7.25.

The midpoint of the updated range is approximately $7.50, placing it above market expectations.

DuPont also raised its full-year revenue outlook to approximately $7.19 billion, exceeding the consensus forecast of $7.16 billion.

Management now anticipates organic sales growth of approximately 4.5% for 2026.

The revised projections reflect confidence in the company’s underlying demand trends and ability to sustain profitability through the remainder of the year.

The higher earnings guidance follows a quarter in which DuPont delivered stronger sales, improved margins and substantial cash generation.

Outlook

DuPont’s third-quarter results showed continued progress across revenue growth, operating profitability and cash flow.

Organic sales growth of 5% helped offset currency headwinds, while an 80-basis-point improvement in operating EBITDA margin supported stronger earnings.

The company’s decision to raise its full-year guidance indicates expectations for continued operational strength, with adjusted earnings per share now projected to reach approximately $7.50 at the midpoint.

DuPont’s additional $250 million share repurchase plan for the fourth quarter also reinforces its commitment to returning capital to shareholders.

Investors will be monitoring the company’s ability to sustain organic growth, maintain operating margins and deliver on its revised financial targets as 2026 draws to a close.
