SoundHound AI (SOUN) Reports Q2: Everything You Need To Know Ahead Of Earnings

Voice AI recognition company SoundHound (NASDAQ:SOUN) will be reporting earnings this Thursday afternoon. Here’s what you need to know.

SoundHound AI missed analysts’ revenue expectations by 4.4% last quarter, reporting revenues of $29.13 million, up 151% year on year. It was a softer quarter for the company, with a significant miss of analysts’ EBITDA estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting SoundHound AI’s revenue to grow 142% year on year to $32.54 million, improving from the 53.8% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted loss is expected to come in at -$0.05 per share.

The majority of analysts covering the company have reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. SoundHound AI has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates twice over the last two years.

Looking at SoundHound AI’s peers in the automation software segment, some have already reported their Q2 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. ServiceNow delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 22.4%, beating analysts’ expectations by 2.9%, and Microsoft reported revenues up 18.1%, topping estimates by 3.5%. ServiceNow traded up 4.3% following the results while Microsoft was also up 3.8%.
