Congressman Who Spent Millions On Magnificent Seven Stocks In 2025 Makes First 2026 Purchases: Here's What He's Buying

By Chris Katje | February 05, 2026, 3:57 PM

A congressman who loaded up on Magnificent Seven stocks in 2025 has disclosed his first stock purchases of 2026. Here's a look at the latest purchases and how they compare to recent trades.

Cleo Fields Stock Shopping List 2026

Congressman Cleo Fields (D-La.) was one of the biggest stock traders in Congress by dollars invested, with millions of dollars invested in multiple stocks, including many of the Magnificent Seven stocks.

In a new disclosure, Fields shared the five stocks he bought to kick things off in 2026. Here are the recent trades, as shared by the Benzinga Government Trades page.

  • Jan. 8: Bought $1,000 to $15,000 Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE:TSM) shares
  • Jan. 12: Bought $1,000 to $15,000 Alphabet Class C (NASDAQ:GOOG) shares
  • Jan. 20: Bought $50,000 to $100,000 Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX) shares
  • Jan. 20: Bought $50,000 to $100,000 IREN Ltd (NASDAQ:IREN) shares
  • Jan. 20: Bought $50,000 to $100,000 Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) shares
  • Jan. 20: Bought $100,000 to $250,000 Alphabet Class C shares

The latest purchases included five different companies with two separate purchases of Alphabet Class C shares. The purchases also included buying shares of two of the Magnificent Seven stocks (GOOG, META).

Fields Stock Trading History

When it comes to buying Magnificent Seven stocks, Fields has become less predictable. The latest transaction included only two of the seven companies in the well-known tech basket, and the purchases were on the smaller side compared to trades made in 2025.

Alphabet has been a favorite trade of Fields over the last year with the congressman buying both Class C and Alphabet Class A (NASDAQ:GOOGL) shares. The last purchase of Alphabet shares by Fields was in December 2025, when he bought both Class A and Class C shares.

For Meta Platforms, this marked a potential change of heart, as the stock had been one of the Magnificent Seven Fields was buying fewer shares of. The congressman last purchased Meta shares in September 2025.

Netflix has become one of the most popular stocks bought by Fields. The congressman has bought over $1 million in shares over the last year and the stock has often replaced some of the Magnificent Seven names in his disclosures. Fields last bought Netflix stock in December 2025.

Fields also bought IREN shares in December 2025.

Outside of Meta, the only other stock from the latest disclosure that Fields didn't also buy in December was Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. The congressman last bought TSM stock in October 2025. Similar to Netflix, TSM has been one of Fields top stock buys by volume and trading activity outside of the Magnificent Seven stocks.
