T1 Energy Inc. (NYSE:TE) has entered into a supply agreement with Clearway Energy Group (NYSE:CWEN) under which it will provide 641 megawatts of solar modules manufactured using domestically produced solar cells from its G2_Austin fabrication facility.
The agreement supports T1 Energy’s strategy of expanding U.S.-based solar manufacturing while helping meet growing demand for domestically sourced renewable energy components.
Texas Manufacturing Facilities to Support Production
The solar modules covered by the agreement will be assembled at T1’s G1_Dallas manufacturing plant, a 5-gigawatt solar module facility located in Texas.
Construction of the company’s G2_Austin solar cell fabrication plant began in December 2025, with the first production phase, representing 2.1 gigawatts of annual capacity, expected to begin operations during the first quarter of 2027.
T1 said it expects to supply solar modules containing more than 60% domestic content beginning in 2027.
Clearway Highlights Importance of Domestic Supply Chains
Clearway Energy said the partnership will support the continued development of its renewable energy pipeline while increasing the use of U.S.-manufactured components.
“Contracts with top-tier manufacturers like T1 help ensure that Clearway can deliver on our ambitious development pipeline with competitive and reliable projects,” said Frances Cook, Vice President of Procurement at Clearway Energy. “With this deal, we are especially excited to bring domestic cells into future construction, generating American-made power with American-made parts.”
T1 Sees Growing Demand for U.S.-Made Solar Products
T1 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dan Barcelo said the agreement reinforces the company’s objective of building a fully traceable domestic solar manufacturing network.
“Customers such as Clearway seeking high-domestic-content modules are building critical momentum for a ’Made in America’ supply chain,” Barcelo said.
Agreement Supports Long-Term U.S. Solar Expansion
Clearway Energy Group operates as an independent power producer with a broad portfolio of renewable energy projects across the United States.
The supply agreement was announced in a T1 Energy press release issued on August 3, 2026, and represents another step toward expanding domestic solar manufacturing capacity while supporting the deployment of American-made renewable energy infrastructure.
