Delek US Holdings (NYSE:DK) reported third-quarter 2026 earnings and revenue significantly above Wall Street expectations, supported by stronger refining margins, improved operating performance and higher profitability across its refining operations.
The energy company posted adjusted earnings of $10.53 per share, exceeding analysts’ consensus estimate of $7.64 by $2.89. Revenue increased 52% year over year to $4.39 billion, compared with $2.89 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025, surpassing forecasts of $3.75 billion.
The stronger results reflected favourable refining market conditions, with crack spreads increasing 191.2% from the previous year.
Delek’s refining segment generated adjusted EBITDA of $1.24 billion during the quarter, representing a 78% increase from $697.4 million a year earlier.
The improvement was primarily driven by substantially higher crack spreads, which measure the difference between crude oil costs and the market value of refined petroleum products.
Excluding the impact of small refinery exemptions granted during the period, adjusted earnings were $10.53 per share, compared with $1.52 in the third quarter of 2025.
On the same basis, adjusted EBITDA reached $1.04 billion, up from $325.7 million in the prior-year quarter.
President and Chief Executive Officer Avigal Soreq highlighted the company’s operational improvements and focus on cash generation.
“Our third-quarter performance reflects the substantial progress we have made in positioning Delek to generate strong free cash flow throughout the market cycle,” Soreq said.
“The results were supported by reliable operations, access to competitively priced crude oil and industry-leading production yields for distillates and jet fuel,” he added.
Following the strong quarterly performance, Delek increased its expected annual cash flow improvements under its Enterprise Optimization Plan.
The company now anticipates annualised cash flow benefits of at least $250 million, compared with its previous target of $220 million.
The revised outlook reflects management’s confidence in its operational efficiency initiatives and ongoing efforts to improve cash generation.
Meanwhile, Delek Logistics reported adjusted EBITDA of $142.9 million during the quarter.
The logistics business also raised its full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance to between $530 million and $560 million, with a midpoint of $545 million.
The improved outlook highlights the contribution of Delek’s logistics operations alongside its refining business.
Delek also announced several capital allocation measures aimed at strengthening its financial position and returning cash to shareholders.
The company repurchased $50 million of common stock during the third quarter and expects to buy back up to an additional $100 million during the fourth quarter.
Management also plans to repay its outstanding $850 million term loan during the final quarter of 2026, reducing the company’s debt obligations.
In addition, Delek increased its regular quarterly dividend by approximately 18% to $0.30 per share.
The announcements reflect the company’s focus on balancing shareholder returns with debt reduction and operational investment.
Delek’s third-quarter results demonstrated the benefits of stronger refining margins and improved operational efficiency, with revenue increasing 52% and refining adjusted EBITDA rising 78%.
The company’s higher cash flow improvement target, increased logistics earnings guidance and planned debt repayment also indicate continued progress in its financial strategy.
However, future earnings will remain sensitive to changes in refining margins, crude oil prices and demand for petroleum products.
Investors will monitor whether Delek can sustain its operating performance and cash generation as refining market conditions evolve.
