The Week Ahead: Rate Cut Decision, Broadcom Earnings

By Emma Duncan | December 04, 2025, 1:00 PM

While several delayed economic data releases are on the docket, all eyes will be on the highly anticipated Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) interest rate decision next week. Additionally, a speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell will give additional insight into the central bank's economic policy.

A handful of earnings will also enter the ring. The list includes Adobe (ADBE), AutoZone (AZO), Broadcom (AVGO), Chewy (CHWY), Costco Wholesale (COST), GameStop (GME), lululemon athletica (LULU), Oracle (ORCL), Synopsys (SNPS), and Toll Brothers (TOL).

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change. Please note that some delayed data from the recent government shutdown may continue to release.

The week starts off on a quiet note, with nothing scheduled for Monday, Dec. 8

Tuesday, Dec. 9, will host the NFIB optimism indexes and October's delayed job openings report.

The previously delayed third-quarter employment cost index is slated for Wednesday, Dec. 10, along with the monthly federal budget, and the FOMC's interest rate decision. This will be followed by a speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell at 2:30 p.m. E.T.

Typical jobs data hits the news on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Friday, Dec. 12 will also be quiet, with no events scheduled.
