Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), who is a close ally of President Donald Trump, recently disclosed several large purchases in Magnificent Seven stocks before the start of 2026. The buys add to his Magnificent Seven purchases made recently.
Mullin Bets on Magnificent Seven
Mullin reported dozens of new trades made prior to the end of 2025, according to the Benzinga Government Trades page.
Here are the trades made in Magnificent Seven stocks on Dec. 29:
- Bought $100,000 to $250,000 in shares of Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)
- Bought $100,000 to $250,000 in shares of Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN)
- Bought $100,000 to $250,000 in shares of Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)
- Bought $50,000 to $100,000 in shares of Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META)
- Bought $100,000 to $250,000 in shares of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)
- Bought $100,000 to $250,000 in shares of NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA)
The other trades made by Mullin were mostly in the $15,000 to $50,000 range, with one transaction coming in the $1,000 to $15,000 range and several others coming in the $50,000 to $100,0000 range.
The $100,000 to $250,000 trades in the Magnificent Seven stocks were the largest made on this day by the senator.
Mullin bought shares of six of the Magnificent Seven stocks, leaving out Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA).
Meta was the only one of the six that did not come in the $100,000 to $250,000 range.
As for Mullin's favorite Magnificent Seven stock, investors could look at the latest disclosure and the most recent purchase of $250,000 to $500,000 in shares of Microsoft in November to see that the tech giant is likely Mullin's top bet for 2026. Mullin also bought Microsoft shares in February 2025.
This marked the first purchase of Apple and Meta shares for Mullin since 2024 and the first purchase of Alphabet shares since 2023. Mullin previously bought Amazon shares in February 2025.
Other New Trades to Watch
Mullin's latest trades were mostly in big technology and blue-chip names, but there are some that could be worth monitoring.
The senator added shares of ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) and RTX Corp (NYSE:RTX), an oil and defense company, respectively.
Oil and defense stocks have been in the spotlight due to Trump's military actions in Venezuela and threats of action in other regions.
Mullin serves on the Senate Committee on Armed Services. The timing of these trades has drawn scrutiny from ethics watchdogs, who point to potential conflicts of interest between the senator's committee access and his private portfolio.
Benzinga has previously flagged the senator for questionable disclosures. In 2025, Mullin violated the STOCK Act by reporting transactions he made in 2023 two years later.
The senator also disclosed buying shares of defense company L3 Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX), which prompted attention from investors given Mullin’s committee assignments.
